Required Documents:-

The following documents are needed to register and obtain a marriage certificate in Mumbai.

· Filled up Application Form duly signed by both groom and bride.

· Original Wedding Card/Invitation 

· Affidavits of the couple

· Address proof for both bride and groom.

· Age Proof is a must to get a Marriage Certificate in Mumbai.

· If the marriage takes place in an official religious location, then declaration by the priest/kazi.

· For divorcees, an order of divorce and verified copies of death certificates are for widows/widowers.

· Photographs – Both groom and bride must submit two passport-sized photos each of 2B size. 6 Copies of joint photographs of the bride and groom in the marriage dress (2B size) and are seen taking part in the marriage ceremony.

· If both parties are Muslim, attach the nikahnama along with the memorandum to get the Marriage Certificate Online in Mumbai

· The applicant must submit the memorandum of marriage forms (supplied in the Marriage officer’s office, Mumbai.) affixed with ₹. 100 Court fee stamp.

Note:

· All documents must be self-attested.

· At least one of the applicants must have government-issued residence proof.

· Carry the original documents for the officer to verify.

Witnesses – A minimum of 3 witnesses who attended the couple’s wedding must be present along with their photos and ID proofs, including a Passport, Ration Card, and Aadhaar card when the marriage certificate is being issued.

· A copy of the passport plus a visa is a must to get Marriage registration in Mumbai. 

· Get NOC from the embassy or marital status certificate

· One of the parties should provide evidence regarding their stay in India for 30 or more days (proof of residence or report from the concerned SHO).

The Process of Online Registration:-

  1. First, visit https://adjudication.igrmaharashtra.gov.in/eMarriage2.0/ and log in with your credentials. If you don’t have an account, create one.
  2. Next, fill out the marriage registration form and upload your photos.
  3. Complete your KYC (Know Your Customer) verification and submit the form.
  4. You will then need to make a payment through an online challan.
  5. After payment, the Marriage Registrar will scrutinize your application and approve it.
  6. Once your application is approved, you can select a marriage date, which must be at least one month from the date of application acceptance.
  7. On the chosen marriage date, carry all the original documents you uploaded when filling out the form.
  8. After completing all the requirements on the marriage date, you will receive your marriage certificate.
